description
Retinal is the "big brother" molecule of the better known anti-aging superstar, Retinol. While Retinol needs two metabolic conversion steps to reach the active form, Retinoic Acid (aka Tretinoin), Retinal is the direct precursor only one conversion step away from the active form the skin cells understand. It is estimated that Retinal can convert more than 10x faster to Retinoic Acid than Retinol, making Retinal an outstandingly effective member of the retinoid family (Vitamin A family).
Once converted, Retinal helps the skin cells to produce more collagen and other structural elements, making the skin more youthful, firm and elastic. It also speeds up the renewal process of the upper skin layers making it smoother and more even. A-Game is a smart-aging must-have, but it is also useful as an adjacent product for fading pigmentation, as well as helping acne-prone skin.

who is it for?
We recommend this product, if you have already used our A-Game 10, loved it and you feel that your skin is ready for the next level. In terms of texture, this product is great for all skin types, including combination, oily skin.
how to use
Apply a pea-sized amount to the face in the PM & distribute it evenly across your face. In your evening routine, apply liquid and gel-type products first after cleansing (for example a toner, or our other gel serums such as HA 5), then your milky serums (like Power Peptides), followed by A-Game. Finish your routine with a moisturizer. Wear a sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater in the morning.
If you are using A-Game 20 for the first time, phase in application starting at 1-2 times per week for two weeks. If well-tolerated, move up to every other evening in two weeks and finally - if your skin tolerates it - every night. Depending on your skin's sensitivity, you may be able to use A-Game 20 around your eyes and on your neck, but please only use a small amount, adjusting frequency based on your skin's individual level of tolerance.
Do not use if pregnant. Topical use of retinoids during breastfeeding is considered low risk, however, please consult your physician first.
Good to know: A-Game has a bright yellow color due to the high concentration of Retinal in it. Based on our experience, it dissipates on the skin and does not leave a yellow tint on surfaces. If you still experience residual color, you can minimize it by leaving time for the product to fully absorb & using a moisturizer on top. Any marks can be removed by washing your clothes & fabrics with your regular detergent.

i've been using retinal for 9 months now. slowly started with the agame 5, then agame 10, and now i'm using my second bottle of the agame20. to be honest i haven't seen drastic changes when i was using the 5 and 10, but it's important to mention that i'm using it as a preventative approach. there was already some more glow replacing the dullness which i was super happy about, but with the agame 20... i have no words. i look like i have a super healthy and natural glow from the inside, my pores seem sligtly less visible, and what i'm the happiest about: IF i have pimples (which rarely happens since i'm using g&g) they only last half as long as they did before. a heads up for anyone switching to 20 from the 10, be careful around your eyes! my skin has a really high tolerance i'd say, and i did not experience any redness or irritation, but even i felt my undereye area a little sensitive when i first upgraded to the highest dosage, so a good moisturizer should always be applied with it, or the sandwich method is also really nice and has been working amazing for me. really , anyone who's not using retinaldehyde yet, should really look into what geek and gorgeous has to offer, because i'm once again blown away by the quality, especially for such a nice price.
Perfect for my skin!
I have been enjoying this stronger one and have had no issues. Love all your products.
I've been using retinol for about five years, including popular products from The Ordinary and CeraVe, and I've been using this product in varying strengths since December 2024. My skin stayed clear and I like the texture and how it feels on my skin, pretty much on par with CeraVe. It's hard to judge the effect on wrinkles at 33. I have some and they seem to stay about the same—maybe the retinol is keeping them from getting worse, who knows? But after nearly two years of yellow pillowcases, I'm done with this product. Please get back to me when you figure out a colourless formulation.
I used up one bottle, am on my second now, moved up from a light Korean retinol to 0,2 retinal right away. My use was 7 days a week until recently when I added 2 acid days to my week (Smooth Out is a glorious recommendation as well). Not once did I have issues or sensitivity, it spreads easily, does not leave a fatty sheen on the face like oil based retinol serums. Yes, you are a bit yellow if you apply 3 pea sizes like me, but just wash your pillow case a bit more often, it washes off easily :)
